How to remove viruses off my Mac?

I have no idea how they got there, all I know is that somehow, they're now on my laptop-"chromium" and "Mac auto fixer". I have a MacBook Air. Is there a way for me to remove them safely without having to go to Best Buy and pay to have them remove them remove the viruses for me?

I know nothing, but I'd recommend going to the apple store. Even if you don't want to pay to get it removed, they can give you advice. And keep in mind, that may be the only way to get rid of it.

I'd start by asking google "how to remove chromium from macbook" and "how to remove mac auto fixer".

I've had pretty good luck getting rid of issues using that method. If you aren't comfortable with the answers from google, try the apple support forums, you can get to those via support @ www.apple.com

The best way to remove any virus is also the most hated. Back up your data, format and reinstall the OS.

Next best is on a non infected computer, google remove and the names you have for the virus and add Mac or apple or something so the engine knows we're not talking windows. You might include the OS version.

Time machine back up on mac - How to remove old saved external hard drive and add new? Mac book pro. Time machine back up was used on a external hard drive that i no longer have. I have bought a new external hard drive, but when i plug it in via usb, time machine does not see it. Time machine only allows me to back up onto the old hard drive i no longer have.
